This whistle makes a nice mellow sound. It encourages grading of air flow because small changes in air flow produce changes in tone and volume. Requires some controlled lip placement to avoid covering whistle hole. You can pretend the train is beginning to leave the station with slow toots and then pick up speed as the train leaves the station!

The shape and size of the mouth piece allows children to work on tongue placement for specific sounds for speech development. The child will learn lip closure techniques-- the same mouth movements used to say certain vowels and consonant sounds.
